Academic Programs
Supporting the development of young scholars, artists, and museum professionals is central to the larger mission of the Gibbes. The Museum accomplishes these goals by providing internship, guest lecture programs, and teaching opportunities for students, professors, and artists in our general education and studio art programs.
College Internship Program
The Gibbes Museum of Art offers part-time, semester-long college internships
during the summer and academic year. College students and recent graduates
in Art/Art History, Fine Art, American Studies, Museum Studies, Communications,
Arts Administration, Arts Education and/or related fields, may apply for internships
in the Education, Communications, and Development departments. Designed as
a professional development program, the Gibbes’ internship program provides
students with a wide range of opportunities including assisting with program
development, marketing initiatives, and meeting arts professionals. This is
an unpaid internship program. Students can make arrangements with their college/university
to receive credit for their participation.
